Two Complementary Disciplines

One Strong Service for Architecture and Interiors.

Architectural photography and interior design photography overlap, but they tell different parts of the same story. One coordinated production can follow the design rather than forcing the project into separate categories.

Architectural Photography Form, structure and spatial relationships. Exterior elevations, building form, circulation, materials, entries and completed-project imagery for architects, builders and developers.
Interior Design Photography Composition, styling and the finished experience. Full-room compositions, furnishings, custom fabrication, lighting, texture and styled details for designers, remodelers and brands.
What We Capture

The Design Story Lives in More Than One Wide-Angle Photograph.

A strong portfolio needs hierarchy: establishing images that explain the space, supporting compositions that show relationships and tighter photographs that reveal craftsmanship and detail.

01

Exterior Architecture

Building form, facade, entries, context, elevations and exterior details composed to communicate the finished design.

02

Interior Architecture

Spatial relationships, circulation, sightlines, ceiling treatments, windows, stairways and built-in architectural elements.

03

Full-Room Compositions

Balanced room views that communicate scale, furniture placement, styling and the relationship between adjoining spaces.

04

Materials + Finishes

Stone, tile, wood, textiles, cabinetry, fixtures, hardware and other materials that define the design vocabulary.

05

Custom Details

Millwork, built-ins, specialty lighting, craftsmanship and project-specific features that deserve dedicated coverage.

06

Styled Vignettes

Intentional detail photographs that add personality, atmosphere and visual depth to portfolios, websites and editorial use.

Materials + Craftsmanship Details are where the design language becomes visible. Tight compositions help document the custom work, materials, hardware, millwork, lighting and small decisions that often define the project.
Visual Storytelling

Build a Portfolio With Wide, Medium and Detail Images.

Design-focused photography is strongest when the finished gallery moves naturally from overall form and room relationships into materials, craftsmanship and carefully styled details.

01 · Establish Hero Architecture Show the complete building, elevation, exterior context or defining room composition.
02 · Relate Connected Spaces Explain circulation, sightlines, room relationships and how design elements work together.
03 · Refine Materials + Finishes Show the surfaces, colors, textures, fixtures and custom elements that define the design.
04 · Detail Craftsmanship + Vignettes Document custom fabrication, lighting, hardware, styled moments and portfolio-worthy details.

A Different Production Standard

Design Photography and Property Marketing Serve Different Goals.

Both can be beautiful, but the production decisions are different. The right approach depends on what the images are expected to communicate and who will use them.

Traditional Property Marketing

Show the Property Clearly.

Real estate photography is primarily designed to communicate the property efficiently to buyers, tenants or guests.

  • Broad property coverage
  • Emphasis on room size + layout
  • Fast, consistent production workflow
  • Listing-oriented usage + delivery
Production Process

A Planned Assignment From Design Intent Through Final Delivery.

The project is scoped around what matters visually, who needs the photographs and how the finished gallery will be used.

01
Project Consultation Identify the project, audience, intended usage, design priorities, stakeholder needs and the story the images should communicate.
02
Shot Planning Establish key spaces, exterior views, details, styling needs, access and timing requirements related to natural light.
03
On-Site Capture Build each composition intentionally, with time for perspective, framing, styling adjustments and design-specific priorities.
04
Finishing + Delivery Selected images receive professional color, perspective and detail refinement for the approved project use.
Production Planning Design priorities shape the shot list before the camera comes out. Timing, styling, exterior light, client priorities, publication needs and stakeholder usage can all affect what should be photographed.
Licensing Matters

One Project Can Have Several Different Stakeholders.

An architect, interior designer, builder, property owner, manufacturer and publication may all want to use the same photographs. That does not automatically make them the same licensee.

Usage is established before production.

The commissioning client receives the usage rights defined in the assignment. When builders, architects, designers, manufacturers, hospitality operators or other project partners also need the finished images, those stakeholders can be identified during scoping so the licensing structure is clear from the beginning.

Architecture & Interiors FAQ

Questions to Resolve Before the Assignment.

How is this different from standard real estate photography?

Standard property photography is designed to market the property broadly and efficiently. Architecture and interior design photography is a custom assignment centered on design intent, composition, materials, craftsmanship, styling and the specific portfolio or commercial use of the finished images.

Do you work with both residential and commercial design projects?

Yes. The subject can be a luxury residence, renovation, restaurant, hotel, office, retail space, model, amenity area or other completed design project. The important distinction is that the assignment is being photographed for the design, construction or brand story rather than simply as a property listing.

Can the architect, designer and builder all use the photographs?

They can when the project scope and licensing are structured to include the approved stakeholders. Because those parties may be separate businesses, shared use should be discussed before production rather than assumed after delivery.

Do you help create the shot list?

Yes. Pinnacle can work from a client-provided list, collaborate on priorities or help structure coverage around important rooms, architectural elements, exterior views, materials and design details.

Should the space be styled before the photographer arrives?

Yes whenever possible. Interior design photography benefits from intentional styling, clean surfaces, completed construction, working lighting and removal of distracting temporary items. Special styling or access requirements should be coordinated before the appointment.

Is this service available for publication or award submissions?

Yes. Intended publication, award or presentation requirements should be identified during scoping so image orientation, subject coverage, finished deliverables and licensing can be planned appropriately.

This was my first time working with Pinnacle Media to capture my new listing, and I was very impressed!
